Killer of 5-Year-Old Hanifa Abubakar Begs FG To Give Him A Lawyer
Today, Abdumalik Tanko, a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of 5-year-old Hanifa Abubakar, told the court that he does not have a lawyer and begged the federal government to give him one.
Last month, the Nigerian Police arrested 3 suspects for the kidnapping and killing of Hanifa Abubakar after they discovered her body at Northwest Preparatory School in Kano City.
Hanifa Abubakar’s school proprietor appeared in court with two other suspects, but as the suspect and the others did not have lawyers, the case could not carry on as many had expected.
I do not have a lawyer at the moment because we do not have access to anyone, but I beg the government to provide me with one. Abdumalik Tanko said
The two other suspects, Fatima Musa and Hashim Isyaku, also maintained what Abdulmalik said regarding needing a lawyer.

Judge Sulaiman Na Abba said he has adjourned the case to February 14, 2022, by 2 p.m. Nigerian time.
Prosecution lawyer, Musa Lawal, said that the federal government would provide them with a lawyer by next Monday, when the case will get another hearing.
