“We Want Justice For Sylvester Oromoni” – Nigerians And Foreigners Petition On The Internet And Social Media

Over 180,000 Nigerians have signed a petition to demand justice after the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old Dowen College student in Nigeria.

Sylvester Oromoni’s family accused five students in Dowen College, Lekki, of torturing them because he refused to join a cult group.

His death has made many Nigerians and foreigners angry, and the Nigerian government has closed down the school indefinitely.

“Preliminary investigations show that there was never a fight, bullying, or any form of attack on Sylvester,” Dowen College said in a statement.

Another family member of Sylvester’s, his cousin, also said what he knew about what happened.

He said on Twitter that five boys had blocked Sylvester’s way, locked him in the hostel, and given him a chemical substance to drink.

But no one knows if his cousin’s claims are true because police have not said anything as they are still investigating.

As the police are still investigating, Sylvester’s father said he wants Dowen College to hand over the students who accused his son.

A joint body of Nigerian students said they would set up their own committee.

Kappo Olawale Samuel, of Nans, told the Vanguard newspaper: “The boy was a student before he died, and NANS [the National Association of Nigerian Students] is for the interest of all students.”

Multiple petitions have been put up on social media and the internet with a call on the Nigerian authorities to prosecute the students responsible for the death of the 12 year old and deliver justice to his family.
