Wizkid – Most Awarded African Acts In History!
Wizkid, also born as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a 31-year-old Nigerian musician who made a name for himself after winning the “Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards.”
Music Of Black Origin was hosted at the Coventry Building Society Arena in the United Kingdom on Sunday night, and was also streamed live on YouTube.
Wizkid received the best international acts and best African arts honours, giving Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun a total of five MOBO awards. Wizkid also took home the Apple Music Award for Artist of the Year for the African Region in 2021.
He was nominated and competed against Rema, Drake, Kanye West, Doja cat, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Skillibeng, and Young Thug & Gunna for the MOBO award for best foreign talents.
He was nominated alongside Davido, Tems, Burna Boy, King Promise, Rema, Ckay, and Tiwa Savage for best African Act.
