Niger State Government Demolish House Of Suspected Kidnapper

Over the weekend, the Niger state government demolished a house that belongs to a suspected kidnapper in Minna, the capital of the state.

The house is described to be a two-bedroom apartment with an uncompleted two-bedroom extension. It is said to be located in the Nkangbe community in Bosso, a local government area in Niger state.

The suspected kidnapper allegedly confessed to participating in the kidnappings of several people and cattle rustling around Niger state, and he was able to build the demolished house and the uncompleted two-bedroom flat with the profits from his criminal activities.

While addressing reporters in Minna on Saturday, Commissioner of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Emmanuel Umaru, confirmed that the Niger state government demolished a house belonging to a suspected kidnapper in Minna.

The Commisioner said that the suspected kidnapper who is currently in the custody of security personnel was one of the suspects in the recent kidnappings of students and lecturers at the University of Abuja.

Umaru explained that joint security agency operations led to the arrest of the suspected kidnapper, adding that the suspect confessed to his actions and that led to the rescue of a kidnapped University of Abuja staff member.

“We won’t allow Niger state to be a safe haven for bandits, kidnappers, or any criminal,” he said.

The commissioner also urged residents to be environmentally conscious and security-conscious in their neighborhoods, and to report any suspicious characters to a nearby security office or station.
