Governor Sanwo-Olu Suspends 21-Storey Building Agency Boss As The Death Toll Increases.
Yesterday, on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, at 2 pm, it was stated by the state information and strategy commissioner, Gbenga Omotosho, that 14 people were unfortunately found dead as they brought them out of the collapsed 21-story building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.
As the death toll increased to 15 on Tuesday,
The commissioner, Gbenga Omotosho, stated that “the government of Lagos state and Governor Sanwo-olu will surely find out what went wrong and punish those involved if caught” and also disclosed that Governor Sanwo-olu suspended LASBCA general manager, Gbolahan Oki.
And his suspension will be indefinite as he was placed as boss to overlook the affairs and yet the ikoyi building collapsed and killed several people.
The commissioner, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, later confirmed that nine people (all men) were pulled out of the collapsed building alive and were taken to the hospital immediately.
