Dangote Truck Kills Ogun State Speaker’s Brother
The Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo, has lost one of his own brothers to the cold hand of death.
Segun Oluomo, a younger brother of Oluomo, a prominent politician from Ifo local government, died yesterday, Thursday, October 28, 2021.
The sad event occurred in the evening of Thursday in Ifo town.
According to eye witness accounts, the late Segun was said to have been crushed to death by a Dangote truck coming from the Papalanto end of town and heading towards the Sango end.
The deceased was said to be on a motorbike popularly known as Okada on the highway before he was crushed to death.
A witness who pleaded anonymity claimed Segun, who was seated as the last person on the bike carrying two other people, was dragged down by the truck before he was crushed beyond recognition.
“The problem was that he (Segun) had a fashion bag across his neck. When the truck approached, a part of the truck hooked the leather of that bag which was across his neck. That was how he landed on the ground and was crushed by the other tyres of the truck. ” He said.
The witness further revealed the others on the same bike escaped with minor and major injuries.
The incident has, however, thrown Ifo town into grief and the Speaker into bereavement.
Segun, apart from being a relative of the Speaker, is said to be very popular among youths in Ifo.
