Court Sentences Nigerian Man To Death By Hanging For Killing His Wife
On Tuesday, a high court in Kano State sentenced a man who is identified as Aminu Inuwa, to death by hanging.
He received the death penalty for killing his wife, Safara’u Mamman, two years ago.
Aminu Inuwa used a knife as a weapon to kill his wife in their home, which is located in Gwazaye quarters in Kano city.
After killing her, Aminu Inuwa buried her in one of their house’s spare rooms. These details of the incident were recorded in the high court’s charge sheet.
The high court’s judge, Usman Na’abba, said the prosecution team proved their case beyond reasonable doubt, and that was why the high court sentenced Aminu Inuwa to death by hanging.
The lawyer of the Prosecution team, Lamido Soron Dinki, said 2 years ago on the 2nd of April, 2019 that Aminu and his wife, Safara’u had a misunderstanding and not too long after their misunderstanding, Aminu used a knife to slit his wife’s throat before buring her in an uncompleted room in their home.
Aminu denied killing his wife, and the people in charge of the case said that the defense team would likely appeal Aminu’s conviction in another high court.
